Ignatius Study Bible Completion

Please support of work on the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible.

The Ignatius Catholic Study Bible provides outstanding biblical notes, explanations, commentary, essays, maps, and other features to help readers more profoundly understand and more deeply encounter the Word of God. Noted biblical theologian and scholar Scott Hahn is General Editor. Utilizing the insights of Dr Scott Hahn, Curtis Mitch, Dr Michael Barber, Dr John Bersgma, Dr Mark Giszczak, Dr Andre Villeneuve, and others, Ignatius Press has put together an invaluable and incomparable Catholic Study Bible.

To date, Ignatius Press has published a single-volume New Testament, as well as stand-alone booklets of the New Testament books that feature study questions by Deacon Dennis Walters, perfect for group or personal Bible study. Old Testament booklets are now available covering the following biblical books:

  • Genesis
  • Exodus
  • Joshua
  • Judges and Ruth
  • 1 and 2 Samuel
  • 1 and 2 Kings
  • Job
  • Tobit, Judith, Esther
  • Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon
  • Isaiah
  • Daniel
  • Deuteronomy
  • Wisdom and Sirach
  • Psalms

Other volumes are coming soon!

Within the next year the Ignatius Press team will complete the Old Testament books and submit the annotations for ecclesiastical approval. Then the entire Catholic Study Bible will be published in a single volume. Individual booklets will continue to be available for Bible studies and personal use.

This has been an expensive, time-consuming mission. There really is no Catholic Study Bible available like the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible. Ignatius Press has committed so much time and effort because we believe a proper understanding of the Bible, in light of Catholic tradition and the best of scholarship, can help renew the Church and reach others for Christ.

Ignatius Press is a non-profit Catholic-Church-based apostolate. We could use your financial help to complete this important project and to get the Study Bible into the hands of as many people as possible—bishops, priests, and deacons, yes, but also laity whose lives can be transformed by the written Word of God.
