Affectionately called the “Man of the Beatitudes” by St. John Paul II for his exemplary work of bringing comfort and happiness to the poor, suffering, and homeless, he was a leader of youth in Italy in Catholic social justice and charitable organizations. An avid mountain climber, Frassati exemplified a great love for life, nature and humanity.
