    BEST Children’s Bible

Posted by Pam on May 7th 2022

My son LOVED the Gospels and Parables version, and now they have compiled the WHOLE BIBLE! I love this so much because it's not crowded visually, and very succinct so as to keep a child's attention. I have bought pretty much every children's Bible, including the new ones from Ascension, and this one is just so much better for young children with short attention spans. My child loves to read this during Mass, and the text is not intimidating so he can read it himself and not get frustrated. But it's still rich! I just want them to add more, like Revelation. It ends with the Acts of the Apostles. The only other thing I would add is, instead of a blank blue space on the front and back of the book, I would list the 74 books of the Bible in order, with little pictures of characters/visuals from each book, and the sections labeled as "Books of the Law, Historical, Prophetic, etc...." That would make for a complete Sunday school text. Also make a sideshow version for teachers to display and click through for a class! But even without that, this is a great overview of the Bible for little kids, much easier than the God's Plan in Scripture for young ones. I'd save the Bible timeline stuff for when they're middle school or older. My top 3 essential Catholic kids' books for kids with short attention spans grades K-6: the Lego Catechism of the 7 Sacraments, THIS children's Bible, and Meg Hunter-Kilmer's Saints Around the World.
